Vantage Management is giving me a headache!

After moving out of my apartment at the end of August, I’m now having a hard time getting my former landlord, Vantage Management, to return my security deposit. I’ve tried in good faith to work with them, but since they routinely don’t return my phone calls, and have apparently decided to add nearly a thousand dollars of inappropriate charges to my account, I have decided to keep a blog of what happens from here on out.  Perhaps everything will be resolved appropriately in due time, but my suspicion is that I might be swimming upstream here for quite awhile.  While it’s not a lot of money in the grand scheme of things (a little less than $1,000) that’s not an insignificant amount of money to me, and more importantly I hope that my journey will help shed some light on this issue for other renters living in NYC. While I honestly have a lot more important things going on in my life, I figure I’m going to see this one through.

I’m curious to see if anyone else has had similar problems with Vantage, or any other major management company in NYC.  Do you have any advice for me?  Please write me!
